Exercises are individually structured to your needs, limits, patterns – designed to help you return to the activities which have been limited by disease or dysfunction. You will be expected to repeat these movement exercises away from the office, frequently and mindfully.
This is not a method that allows you to be passive or mindless in your time during or between sessions – the more time and attention you devote to your self-awareness, the greater the potential for recovery.
It took time to learn to move or position yourself in a way that created pain or dysfunction, and it takes time to reverse course and find a new path to better movement and posture. But with knowledge, attention and educated instruction, the path out of the woods is quicker than the path into the woods. Even if the onset of pain or dysfunction is an acute incident, posttraumatic accommodation and compensation could be at issue. And remember, the acute incident happened to a body with preexisting, although maybe not yet symptomatic, biases and imbalances.
