Sessions are 55-60 minutes long, in a private treatment room, one-on-one. Expect an initial evaluation of your posture in lying/sitting/standing and your movement strategies when turning, reaching, bending, sit-to-stand, walking. As I observe and assess, I will invite you to become aware as well. This aspect of self-awareness is a crucial component of the method, and will be utilized throughout our sessions.
Session might consist of standing, sitting on a chair or the floor, kneeling, lying on a wide low firm table or on the floor, or any variety of positions as tolerated. You will be taken through movement sequences to relieve pain, reduce tension, and enhance possible options of stability, mobility and flexibility either verbally or through gentle educated touch.
My goals include bringing your attention to the individual segments of your current patterns, to engage or change postural and functional patterns that increase pain, limit movement potentials, and reduce the ability to perform activities of daily life - and thus sleuth out new options, and create the potential for new habits.
